Overview:

  • Redis has 2 types of persistence:
    • RDB – redis database file – point-in-time snapshot of the data
    • AOF – append only file – logs every write operation – reconstruction of data set
    • persistence can also be totally disabled

BGSAVE:

  • starts background asynchronous process to save data on disk

BGREWRITEAOF:

  • starts background asynchronous process to create new AOF file

LASTSAVE:

  • returns UNIX TIME of last save of data on disk
